Lara Favaretto forces an awkward reckoning between the building blocks of industry, engineering, and social order and the charged energy of spectacle by overstepping the authority of structures of rationality. Favaretto studied at Kingston University (London), Fondazione Antonio Ratti (Como, Italy), and Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera (Milan). Her work was included in Documenta 13 (2013) and in the 51st Venice Biennale (2005), and in group exhibitions at the Hayward Gallery (London, 2010) and the Museo Nazionale delle Arti del XXI Secolo (Rome, 2011). She has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at the Sharjah Art Museum (2013), MoMA PS1 (New York, 2012), and Tramway (Glasgow, 2009).
