Description

In the past, Carnegie Museum of Art's contemporary collection galleries have been deinstalled during the Carnegie International. This time, visitors will be treated to a major reinstallation of these galleries and will learn how past Internationals have shaped the museum's significant holdings of modern and contemporary art. Much of the collection was acquired for the museum by prescient Carnegie International curators, a unique tradition in the museum world. The reinstallation will be on view through the run of the exhibition, bringing this International into conversation with the changing tastes and opinions represented in past iterations of the exhibition.
